Dons Garage
SInce the beginning of my driving experience I have owned some 55 plus cars. Today many are very collectible, others , well might be good  for old  inexpensive drivers. The ones I really miss are: 1950 Ford conv., 1955 Plymouth conv., 1958 MGA,1958 Impala conv. and my 1960 Ford Sunliner. The first car I saved was the 1956 Austin Healey  as seen on this site and it still sits in my garage today. I have learned from my mistakes, became a part time carpenter and now have my more recent purchases tucked away and out of the weather. This page is for my garage and I will give a brief description of each.
1987 Corvette convertible 350ci automatic. At time of posting shows 29000k. I am second owner , this car has only seen rain 3 times. First owner stored in heated garage, I keep it garaged but heat is not an option.  I had planned a cross country trip with this vette but decided there was next to no storage space for luggage.
1968 Corvette Stingray 4 speed 350 ci. This is a great driver. I have stripped the paint and had it painted by my friend Doug Dwelly. This is a constant restoration project. So far: rebuilt engine, SS brakes and exhaust, new chrome, new top and tires, Waiting for my time are new carpets, door panels and seat covers.
1988 Camaro 350ci auto. I had wanted a 1987 stick conv. but convertibles  were impossible to find when I was looking. I am the second adult owner with 75K miles at this time. Purchased in 1992. This is a real fun car to drive, yes even with automatic. I have had to do very little in repairs, new exhaust, tuneup, heater core and had it painted as it returned to the car wash too many times prior to my purchase.
1973 Cadillac Eldorado 500ci auto. Purchased in Maine while building a boat house. This car was not in the cards but everyday I passed it I thought I needed to own a Cadillac. Needless to say the boat stayed outside for another winter.
BELOW: 1998 Corvette 350ci 6 speed. This was our cross country travel car while we visited our family in Walla Walla Washington. I was looking for a convertible but the targa top ended up being the better choice. Plenty of luggage room for two and the option to remove the roof on those nice sunny days. Being a convertible person I wasn't sure but I still enjoy cruisin on nice days. This was the perfect car for driving cross country. On our return we traveled the Skyline Drive and it was the perfect end to our trip.
1956 Austin Healey BN2 100-4. I have owned since 1968. Engine rebuilt and lots of new parts but this is the slowest restoration project on the planet. I have only driven the Healey for 2 summers since ownership. Someday!!!
